Spread the word . . .
Emerson said, “What lies before us and what lies behind us are tiny compared to what lies within us.”
I believe this is as true for a corporation as it is for an individual.

October Nor’easter
During October of this year, RLI was again called to the Northeast and provided service in the same areas recently hit by Hurricane Irene. This early season snow storm dropped heavy snow on leafy trees which caused widespread power outages throughout New England. RLI again provided network recovery services for both AT&T mobility and AT&T land line. RLI performed network recovery operations from three sites in Connecticut which were hardest hit by the storm.
Calera Alabama Tornado
RLI was still heavily engaged in recovery operations from Hurricane Irene, when Calera Alabama was struck by yet another tornado. RLI provided fuel teams which helped our clients keep their backup power systems topped off while they were in use.
Hurricane Irene
In August of 2011, RLI responded to the impact of Hurricane Irene along the mid-Atlantic and Northeast coastline. RLI was simultaneously deployed in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. RLI conducted network recovery operations for AT&T out of (4) different bases, with it’s recovery operations extended as far north as Vermont, and Maine. RLI deployed over 500 men, 600 generators, and its entire fleet of recovery equipment into the effort. The affects of Hurricane Irene were far reaching, affecting both the power grid and communications throughout the region. RLI teams were deployed in the field for three weeks during this event.
Alabama Tornadoes
During late April of 2011, RLI was called out after a freak outbreak of strong tornadoes in Alabama. The extent of damage from this series of storms was significant, including extensive power outages and damage to business infrastructure. RLI assisted AT&T with the deployment of mobile sales office equipment so that AT&T could provide support to their clients in areas where normal store operations were affected.
National Hurricane Conference
Be sure to join us at the 2011 National Hurricane Conference in Atlanta, GA. We will continue to provide our customers with up to minute news and information on being prepared for the next disaster. The unfortunate earthquake, and subsequent tsunami in Japan is a sobering reminder of our need to be ready to respond in the event we should suffer similar events in the United States.

Hurricane Earl
Under threat from Hurricane Earl, Recovery Logistics was mobilized by AT&T to pre-stage network recovery teams and resources in both the Chesapeake Bay and New England regions. Other telecommunications companies were also in contact with Recovery Logistics in preparation for potential network outages. Recovery Logistics quickly deployed incident command teams, generators, electricians, and other network recovery assets into both regions in case Hurricane Earl impacted telecommunications networks. As it turned out, Earl’s impact ashore was minimal and there were not significant outages to contend with. Recovery Logistics demobilized its’ fast-response resources after it became clear that Earl would not strike the mainland. It was a brief but effective exercise, providing assurance for our clients and good practice for the responders.
